- &1 - &2: It seems as if data is not being replicated; see long text ?The SAP error message CNV_DMC_HC020 typically indicates an issue with data replication during a data migration or conversion process, particularly when using the SAP Data Migration Cockpit (DMC) or related tools. The message suggests that there is a problem with the data not being replicated as expected.
Cause:
- Data Source Issues: The source system may not be configured correctly, or there may be connectivity issues preventing data from being accessed or replicated.
- Mapping Errors: There could be issues with the mapping of fields between the source and target systems, leading to data not being transferred correctly.
- Transformation Logic: If there are transformation rules applied to the data, they may not be functioning as intended, causing data to be skipped or not replicated.
- Technical Errors: There may be underlying technical issues, such as database locks, insufficient permissions, or system resource constraints.
- Configuration Issues: The DMC or related tools may not be configured properly, leading to failures in the replication process.
Solution:
- Check Connectivity: Ensure that the connection between the source and target systems is active and properly configured.
- Review Mapping: Verify the mapping of fields between the source and target systems to ensure that all necessary fields are correctly aligned.
- Examine Transformation Rules: Review any transformation logic applied to the data to ensure it is functioning correctly and not inadvertently filtering out data.
- Check Logs: Look at the logs generated during the data migration process for any specific error messages or warnings that can provide more context on the issue.
- Permissions: Ensure that the user executing the migration has the necessary permissions to read from the source and write to the target.
