  • What causes this issue?

There are certain prerequisites for mapping values:
Simple rules do not require a parameter. You need only to specify an old
    and a new value.
If a rule has a parameter, then you must specify a value for the
    parameter
Neither the old value nor the new value may be initial
The values of the old value and new value fields must differ
    The following examples illustrate this:
    Parameter,,Old,,New
A,,001,,002,,Correct at this time but causing the next record's
    invalidity
A,,002,,999,,IIncorrect, "002" is already used as a new value in the
    previous record
    A,,010,,020,,Correct, both fields unique
B,,001,,002,,Correct, the values are unique for this parameter
    B,,015,,015,,Incorrect, the values are identical

    System Response

Values that are to be uploaded from the excel file will be checked both
against themselves and against anything already found on screen.
Incorrect entries will simply be ignored, but the system displays this
    error message.

    How to fix this error?

Data should be uploaded from an Excel file with the CSV format. Only the
first four columns of the file are relevant. These must contain the:
    Rule name
    Parameter name
    Old value
    New value
If there is no parameter for the given rule then the parameter name
should remain blank. The column must not be omitted because there is no
    value.
Values that are to be uploaded from the Excel file will be checked both
against themselves and against anything already found on screen.
Incorrect entries will be ignored, but result in a message that
    describes the correct format.
Note that if duplicated values are contained in the Excel file then the
first one will be accepted - providing, of course, that it does not
duplicate an already existing entry. Any following duplicated file
    entries will be rejected.

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message CNV_CMIS_M033 - Incorrect entries were rejected ?

The SAP error message CNV_CMIS_M033 indicates that there are incorrect entries in the data being processed, which have been rejected. This error typically occurs during data migration or conversion processes, particularly when using the SAP Conversion Management Information System (CMIS) or during the execution of data migration projects.

    Cause:

The error can be caused by several factors, including:

    1. Data Format Issues: The data being imported may not conform to the expected format or structure. This could include incorrect data types, missing mandatory fields, or invalid values.

    2. Validation Rules: The data may violate specific validation rules defined in the target system. For example, if a field expects a certain range of values or specific codes, any deviation from these rules can lead to rejection.

    3. Mapping Errors: If there are issues with the mapping of source data to target fields, it can result in incorrect entries being processed.

    4. Duplicate Entries: The presence of duplicate records that violate unique constraints in the target system can also trigger this error.

    5. Configuration Issues: Incorrect configuration settings in the migration tool or the target system can lead to data being processed incorrectly.

    Solution:

To resolve the CNV_CMIS_M033 error, you can follow these steps:

    1. Review Error Logs: Check the detailed error logs or messages provided by the migration tool. This will help identify which specific entries were rejected and why.

    2. Validate Data: Ensure that the data being migrated is clean and adheres to the required formats and validation rules. This may involve:

      • Checking for missing or null values in mandatory fields.
      • Ensuring that data types match (e.g., numeric fields contain only numbers).
      • Verifying that values fall within acceptable ranges.
    3. Correct Mapping: Review the mapping of source data to target fields to ensure that all fields are correctly aligned and that there are no discrepancies.

    4. Remove Duplicates: If duplicates are causing the issue, identify and remove them from the source data before attempting the migration again.

    5. Test Migration: Before performing a full migration, conduct a test migration with a smaller subset of data to identify any potential issues early on.

    6. Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or guides related to the specific migration tool you are using for additional troubleshooting steps and best practices.

    7. Seek Support: If the issue persists, consider reaching out to SAP support or consulting with an SAP expert who can provide more tailored assistance based on your specific scenario.
