the analysis system and the reference system point to the same SAP
system.
In general, the analysis system is the one that is yet to be upgraded,
while the reference system is the one that has been upgraded. Thus, it
is possible to determine the changes to the SAP objects by comparing
the versions of these objects in the two systems.
If both the roles are assigned to the same system, the comparison
cannot take place because the relevant SAP objects are available in
only one version.

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
