Message text: Implicit cycle merge found
A mix of explicit and implicit merges into a cycle was detected. This
happens for example when cycles will be merged, but the mapping only
contains a part of the source cycles.
A merge of cycles is not supported. To resolve this issue, you have to
change the mapping values for the cycles.
You cannot run the transformation solution Controlling Area Merge
because certain prerequisites have not been met. Please change your

CNV_20340_CHECK002
- Implicit cycle merge found ?The SAP error message CNV_20340_CHECK002 with the description "Implicit cycle merge found" typically occurs during data migration or conversion processes, particularly when using the SAP S/4HANA Migration Cockpit or other data migration tools. This error indicates that there is a cyclic dependency in the data relationships that the system is trying to process, which can lead to inconsistencies or infinite loops during the migration.
Cause:
The error is usually caused by:
- Cyclic Dependencies: There are relationships between data entities that create a cycle. For example, if Entity A references Entity B, and Entity B references Entity A, this creates a cycle that the migration process cannot resolve.
- Incorrect Data Mapping: The mapping of source data to target data may not be correctly defined, leading to unintended relationships.
- Data Integrity Issues: The source data may have integrity issues, such as missing references or incorrect foreign key relationships.
Solution:
To resolve the CNV_20340_CHECK002 error, you can take the following steps:
Analyze Data Relationships:
- Review the data model and relationships between the entities involved in the migration. Identify any cyclic dependencies.
- Use tools or queries to visualize the relationships and find cycles.
Adjust Data Mapping:
- Ensure that the mapping of source data to target data is correct and does not create cycles.
- Modify the mapping to break the cycle, if necessary.
Clean Up Source Data:
- Check the source data for integrity issues. Ensure that all references are valid and that there are no missing or incorrect foreign keys.
- Clean up any data that may cause cycles or inconsistencies.
Use Migration Tools:
- If you are using SAP's migration tools, ensure that you are following the recommended procedures and guidelines for data migration.
- Check for any updates or patches for the migration tool that may address known issues.
Consult Documentation:
- Refer to SAP documentation related to the specific migration process you are using. There may be specific guidelines or troubleshooting steps for this error.
Seek Support:
