CNV_20100217 - Overview

  • Message text: Source cost element &3 already exists; implicit merge

  • What causes this issue?

When checking the secondary cost elements that will be merged, the
system found that the mapping &V1& -> &V2& would result in an
    <DS:TX.CNV_20100_TX_IMPLICITMERGE>implicit merge</> with source cost
    element &V3&.
The reason is that source cost element &V3& is not itself the source
cost element (&V3& -> XXXX) for another mapping.
Consequently cost element &V1& will be merged implicitly with existing
cost element &V3& at <DS:TX.CNV_20100_TX_ASEGMENT>A level</> as well as
    at <DS:TX.CNV_20100_TX_BSEGMENT>B level</>.
This has the following consequences. You need:
to find out if the implicit merge is correct from a logical point of
    view
to explicitely include the entry &V3& -> &V2& to the mapping
Consider the priority indicator. If the priority indicator is not set,
it is not clear which settings will take priority when cost elements
    &V1& and &V3& are merged into &V2&

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

    How to fix this error?

    <ZH>Regarding item 2:</>
Explicitely include the mapping &V3& -> &V2& in the mapping table so
that at least the following entries exist in the mapping table:
    &V1& -> &V2&
    &V3& -> &V2&
If applicable, any others with target cost element &V2&.
This allows the system to check the merge for logical correctness.
A troubleshooting activity is associated to this activity which supports
you in creating the required mapping entries to resolve the implicit
    merges.
    <ZH>Regarding item 3:</>
Set the priority indicator for one of the entries with target cost
    element &V2&.
    &NOTE&
It is possible to do the conversion without setting the priority
indicator. In this case you should check the A segment settings (cost
elements, chart of account-dependent data) and the B segment settings
(cost elements, controlling area-dependent data) for the affected cost
    element &V2& after the conversion.
    &ADDITIONAL_HINTS&
The priority indicator must not be set more than <ZH>once</> for all
merges to a given cost element. This is also valid for cross-chart of
    accounts merges.

CNV_20100217 - Details

  • The SAP error message CNV_20100217 indicates that there is a conflict with cost elements during a data migration or conversion process. Specifically, it means that the source cost element you are trying to import or create already exists in the target system, leading to an implicit merge situation.

Cause: Duplicate Cost Elements: The error arises when the system detects that the cost element you are trying to create or migrate already exists in the target system. Data Migration: This often occurs during data migration processes, such as when using SAP's Migration Cockpit or other data transfer tools, where multiple source systems may have overlapping cost element definitions.
Configuration Issues: There may be configuration issues in the target system that lead to the same cost element being defined multiple times.
Solution: Check Existing Cost Elements: Before migrating, check the target system for existing cost elements. You can do this by using transaction codes like KS03 (Display Cost
