Message type: E = Error
Message class: CNV_20100 - Messageclass for chart of account conversion
Message number: 016
Message text: Line &1 is not CoCd-dependent, while most likely scenario &2 has to be so
"Company code-dependent" means that the conversion will not be carried
out for all company codes that exist in the system, but only for
selected ones. You specified the company codes that participate in the
conversion in the activity <ZK>Specify Accounts and Chart of Accounts
for Conversion</>.
The customer data entered in line &V1& is not company code-dependent.
However the most likely scenario &V2& <ZH>must</> be company
code-dependent.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
The possible basic scenarios were checked, but none of them fits.
When entering the data, you indicated all company codes that use the
CoA.
Clarify if this is really correct, and note the status of the <ZK>Copy
Rows</> indicator.
If the <ZK>Copy Rows</> indicator is set, the master data of old CoA X
is copied to Y when CoA X is converted into Y (and, if necessary,
accounts are merged or renamed), while old CoA X will still exist
without any changes after the conversion.

- Line &1 is not CoCd-dependent, while most likely scenario &2 has to be so ?The SAP error message CNV_20100016 indicates that there is a mismatch in the configuration of a line item in a conversion or migration process, specifically related to the company code (CoCd) dependency. This error typically arises during data migration activities, particularly when using SAP's data migration tools or during the execution of a conversion program.
Cause:
The error occurs when the system expects a line item to be dependent on a specific company code, but the data provided does not meet this requirement. This can happen for several reasons:
- Data Structure Issues: The data being migrated may not have the necessary company code information, or it may be structured in a way that does not align with the expected format.
- Configuration Settings: The configuration settings in the source or target system may not be aligned, leading to discrepancies in how company codes are handled.
- Mapping Errors: There may be errors in the mapping of fields between the source and target systems, particularly if the company code is not being correctly assigned or recognized.
Solution:
To resolve this error, you can take the following steps:
Check Data Source: Review the data being migrated to ensure that all necessary fields, including the company code, are populated correctly. Ensure that the data structure aligns with the expected format.
Review Mapping Configuration: Verify the mapping configuration in the migration tool. Ensure that the company code is correctly mapped and that the expected dependencies are defined.
Adjust Configuration Settings: If the error is due to configuration settings, review the settings in both the source and target systems. Ensure that they are consistent and that the company code dependencies are correctly defined.
Consult Documentation: Refer to the SAP documentation related to the specific migration tool or program you are using. There may be specific guidelines or requirements for handling company code dependencies.
Test with Sample Data: If possible, test the migration process with a smaller set of sample data to identify if the issue persists. This can help isolate the problem and allow for easier troubleshooting.
Seek Support: If the issue cannot be resolved through the above steps, consider reaching out to SAP support or consulting with an SAP expert who can provide more tailored assistance based on your specific scenario.
Related Information:
By following these steps, you should be able to identify the root cause of the error and implement a solution to successfully complete your data migration.
