  • Show details Hide details
  • What causes this issue?

Based on the settings stored in the path parameters (transaction
CNV_10020_PARAMP), the relationship data for &V3& &V4& has been divided
into &V1& blocks for the purposes of partial loading. The block size
calculation resulted in an average of &V2& records per block.
    &HINTS&
If the cardinality is 1:N or N:M, the source determination values can
have more than one target determination value assigned. Because a block
you want to load must necessarily contain all relationship data for a
source determination value, the actual number of entries in some blocks
may be higher than the calculated block size.
For cluster data, the block size must always be a multiple of the
package size to be filled. If this is not the case, the value is
adapted internally in accordance with this rule.

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message CNV_10020603 - Relationship data was divided into &1 blocks (approx. block size is &2) ?

The SAP error message CNV_10020603 indicates that relationship data has been divided into multiple blocks during a data migration or conversion process. This typically occurs in the context of SAP's data migration tools, such as the SAP S/4HANA Migration Cockpit or other data conversion programs.

    Cause:

    1. Data Volume: The primary cause of this error is the large volume of relationship data being processed. When the data exceeds a certain threshold, the system automatically divides it into blocks to manage memory and processing efficiency.
    2. Configuration Settings: The configuration settings for data processing may not be optimized for the volume of data being handled.
    3. Performance Limitations: The system may have performance limitations based on hardware resources, such as memory and processing power, which can lead to data being split into blocks.

    Solution:

    1. Increase Block Size: If possible, adjust the configuration settings to increase the block size. This can help reduce the number of blocks created during processing.
    2. Optimize Data Volume: Review the data being migrated and see if it can be filtered or reduced. This may involve excluding unnecessary records or optimizing the data structure.
    3. Monitor System Resources: Ensure that the system has adequate resources (CPU, memory) to handle the data processing. Upgrading hardware or optimizing system performance may help.
    4. Check Migration Settings: Review the settings in the migration tool to ensure they are configured correctly for the data volume you are working with.
    5. Consult SAP Notes: Check for any relevant SAP Notes or documentation that may provide additional guidance or patches related to this error.
