Message number: 585
Message text: No scaling of calculated results takes place
The program for calculating the memory requirements considers only the
width of the internal table. Depending on the system settings, the
calculated value may differ from the actual memory requirements.
To get a more precise estimate, the system can first determine the
actual memory requirements for internal object tables of certain sizes
and compare these values to the calculated value. This results in a
scaling factor by which the calculated memory requirements can be
multiplied. You can switch off the scaling at any time.
&HINTS&
Using the parameter MEMORY_USE_SCALE (transaction CNV_10020_PARAM), you
can switch off the scaling.

- No scaling of calculated results takes place ?The SAP error message CNV_10020585: No scaling of calculated results takes place typically occurs during data migration or conversion processes, particularly when using SAP's data migration tools like the SAP S/4HANA Migration Cockpit or other conversion tools. This error indicates that the system is unable to scale the calculated results for certain fields, which can lead to issues in data accuracy or integrity.
Cause:
- Data Type Mismatch: The source and target data types may not match, leading to issues in scaling.
- Missing Configuration: There may be missing or incorrect configuration settings in the migration tool that prevent proper scaling.
- Inconsistent Data: The data being migrated may contain inconsistencies or values that cannot be scaled appropriately.
- Calculation Logic: The logic used for calculations may not be defined correctly, leading to results that cannot be scaled.
Solution:
- Check Data Types: Ensure that the data types in the source and target systems are compatible. If necessary, adjust the data types in the migration settings.
- Review Configuration: Go through the configuration settings of the migration tool to ensure that all necessary parameters for scaling are correctly set.
- Data Cleansing: Perform data cleansing on the source data to remove inconsistencies or invalid values that could affect scaling.
- Adjust Calculation Logic: If custom calculations are involved, review and adjust the logic to ensure that it can produce results that are scalable.
- Consult Documentation: Refer to the SAP documentation for the specific migration tool you are using to understand any specific requirements or limitations regarding scaling.
- Testing: Conduct thorough testing with a subset of data to identify and resolve any issues before performing a full migration.
