  • What causes this issue?

Selection restriction is not allowed with drop/insert technique.
The table &V1& is marked to be processed with drop / insert technique.
The basic principle of this technique is that:
complete data is selected, converted and written back to the database
    (conversion packages),
complete data is selected from the table and only the part of the data
that is not supposed to be deleted is written back to the table
    (deletion packages).
Restricting selection would cause only part of the data to be selected
and therefore all other data would be lost!

    System Response

The selection partitioning is not allowed.

The SAP error message CNV_00001527 indicates that there is a restriction on the selection criteria when using the drop/insert technique in a data migration or conversion process. This error typically arises in the context of SAP's data migration tools, such as the SAP S/4HANA Migration Cockpit or other data transfer methods.

    Cause:

The error occurs when the selection criteria defined for the data migration process are not compatible with the drop/insert method. This can happen due to several reasons:

    1. Incompatible Selection Criteria: The selection criteria may be too restrictive or not properly defined, leading to an inability to process the data as intended.
    2. Data Integrity Issues: The drop/insert technique may not be able to maintain data integrity if the selection criteria do not allow for a complete and valid dataset to be processed.
    3. Technical Restrictions: There may be technical limitations in the underlying database or the migration tool that prevent the use of certain selection criteria with the drop/insert method.

    Solution:

To resolve this error, consider the following steps:

    1. Review Selection Criteria: Check the selection criteria you have defined for the migration process. Ensure that they are broad enough to allow for the necessary data to be processed without violating any restrictions.

    2. Change Migration Technique: If the drop/insert technique is not suitable for your scenario, consider using an alternative method for data migration that allows for the selection criteria you need. For example, you might use an update or merge technique instead.

    3. Consult Documentation: Refer to the SAP documentation for the specific migration tool you are using. There may be guidelines or best practices regarding the use of selection criteria with different migration techniques.

    4. Test with Sample Data: If possible, test the migration process with a smaller subset of data to identify if the issue persists. This can help isolate the problem and determine if it is related to specific records or selection criteria.

    5. Seek Support: If you are unable to resolve the issue, consider reaching out to SAP support or consulting with an SAP expert who can provide guidance based on your specific scenario.
