Message text: other NRIV tables in use
More NRIV tables in use
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
In addition to table NRIV, at least one more table is used for number
assignment:
NRIV_LOKAL - Local NRIV for multi-processor machines;
NRIV_RESTE - Not assigned internal numbers (if NRIV is split up)
NRIVSHADOW - Local NRIV for multi-processor machines
This requires a project-specific solution.
For background information, see SAP Note 1398444. The problem to be
expected is described in SAP Note 1019692.
To be able to proceed with your work on the mapping, you can use the
transaction CNV_SETYELLOW. In parallel, however, you need to find a
project-specific solution for these three tables.
If you encounter any problems while doing so, contact SLO development.

- other NRIV tables in use ?The SAP error message CNV20201445, which states "other NRIV tables in use," typically occurs during data migration or conversion processes, particularly when using the SAP S/4HANA Migration Cockpit or similar tools. This error indicates that there are other NRIV (Number Range Interval) tables currently in use, which can lead to conflicts or inconsistencies during the migration process.
Cause:
- Concurrent Usage: The error often arises when there are active processes or transactions that are using the same number range intervals that the migration process is trying to access or modify.
- Locked Number Ranges: If the number ranges are locked or being used by other transactions, the migration process cannot proceed.
- Configuration Issues: There may be configuration issues with the NRIV tables that need to be addressed before the migration can continue.
Solution:
- Check Active Processes: Identify any active processes that might be using the NRIV tables. You can use transaction codes like SM66 (Global Work Process Overview) or SM50 (Work Process Overview) to check for active sessions.
- Release Locks: If you find that there are locks on the NRIV tables, you may need to wait for those processes to complete or manually release the locks if appropriate.
- Review Number Range Configuration: Ensure that the number ranges are correctly configured and not overlapping with other processes. You can check this in transaction SNRO (Number Range Objects).
- Run Migration in Off-Peak Hours: If possible, schedule the migration during off-peak hours when fewer users are active in the system to minimize conflicts.
- Consult SAP Notes: Check for any relevant SAP Notes that may provide additional guidance or patches related to this error. You can search for notes using the SAP Support Launchpad.
