- More than one project is being used ?The SAP error message CNIF_PI035 ("More than one project is being used") typically occurs in the context of project management within SAP, particularly when dealing with project structures and assignments. This error indicates that the system has detected multiple projects being referenced in a context where only one is expected.
Cause:
Multiple Project Assignments: The error often arises when a transaction or operation is trying to reference multiple projects simultaneously. This can happen if:
- A cost center or internal order is assigned to more than one project.
- A network or activity is linked to multiple projects.
- There are inconsistencies in the project structure or hierarchy.
Incorrect Data Entry: Users may inadvertently select multiple projects when only one is intended, leading to this error.
Configuration Issues: There may be configuration settings in the project system that allow for multiple project references where it should be restricted.
Solution:
Check Project Assignments: Review the assignments of the cost centers, internal orders, or networks involved in the transaction. Ensure that they are correctly assigned to a single project.
Review Transaction Data: If you are entering data manually, double-check that you are not inadvertently selecting multiple projects. Ensure that the project number is unique for the operation you are trying to perform.
Use the Correct Project: If you need to work with a specific project, ensure that you are referencing only that project in your transaction.
Consult Project Structure: If you are working with a complex project structure, consult the project hierarchy to ensure that the correct project is being referenced and that there are no overlaps.
System Configuration: If the issue persists, it may be necessary to consult with your SAP administrator or technical team to review the configuration settings related to project management. They may need to adjust settings to prevent multiple project references in certain transactions.
