    How to fix this error?

Check the following settings in the activity: <DS:SIMG.CMAP_VC>set up
    model for semantic mapping</>:
In the navigation step <LS>maintain attribute mapping</>, check whether
the <DS:DE.CMAP_VL121>direct value mapping</> indicator is set
    correctly.
If the indicator is set correctly, then no further settings are
    necessary.
The navigation step <LS>generate target value from one source value</>
is only necessary if the attribute value in the target system is
generated directly from the attribute value in the source system.

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message CMAP111 - 1:1 mapping and VLMP entries cannot be used at the same time ?

The SAP error message CMAP111 indicates that there is a conflict between the configuration of 1:1 mapping and VLMP (Variable Length Mapping) entries in your system. This error typically arises when both mapping types are being used simultaneously in a way that is not allowed by the system.

    Cause:

    1. 1:1 Mapping: This is a straightforward mapping where each source element corresponds to exactly one target element. It is often used for simple data transformations.
    2. VLMP Entries: Variable Length Mapping allows for more complex mappings where the number of target elements can vary based on the source data. This is useful for scenarios where the data structure is not fixed.
    3. Conflict: The error occurs because the system does not allow both mapping types to be active at the same time for the same data transformation process. This can happen if the configuration settings for the mapping are not aligned or if there are overlapping definitions.

    Solution:

To resolve the CMAP111 error, you can take the following steps:

    1. Review Mapping Configuration:

      • Check the mapping configuration in your SAP system to see if both 1:1 mapping and VLMP entries are defined for the same data transformation.
      • Ensure that you are using only one type of mapping for the specific transformation you are trying to execute.
    2. Adjust Mapping Settings:

      • If you need to use 1:1 mapping, remove or deactivate any VLMP entries that are conflicting.
      • Conversely, if you require VLMP, ensure that all 1:1 mappings are removed or adjusted accordingly.
    3. Test the Changes:

      • After making the necessary adjustments, test the mapping process again to ensure that the error is resolved.
    4. Consult Documentation:

      • Refer to SAP documentation or help resources for detailed guidance on configuring mappings and understanding the implications of using different mapping types.
    5. Seek Support:

      • If you are unable to resolve the issue, consider reaching out to your SAP support team or consulting with an SAP expert who can provide more tailored assistance based on your specific configuration and requirements.

    Related Information:

    • SAP Notes: Check for any relevant SAP Notes that might address this specific error or provide additional context.
    • Mapping Documentation: Review the SAP documentation related to data mapping and transformation processes to better understand the limitations and best practices.
    • Community Forums: Engage with SAP community forums or user groups where similar issues may have been discussed, and solutions shared.
