Message number: 834
Message text: No SI unit has been assigned to dimension &1
The sum of the components cannot be displayed since
<DS:GLOS.3526C2A3AFAB52B9E10000009B38F974>dimension</> &v1&, which is
defined for the selected reference value, is not assigned an
<DS:DE.MSSIE>SI unit</>.
If you want to calculate the sum of the components and different
dimension units of measurement are specified for the components, an SI
unit must be assigned to the dimension. If no SI unit is assigned, the
sum of the components cannot be calculated.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
If possible, assign the same unit of measurement to all components of
the composition.
If you want to assign an SI unit to dimension &v1&, which is defined for

This error typically arises in the context of material management, production planning, or when dealing with characteristics in classification.
Cause:
The error occurs when:
- A characteristic or dimension is defined in the system but does not have an associated unit of measure (UoM).
- The system requires a unit of measure for calculations or evaluations, and the absence of this unit leads to the error.
Solution:
To resolve the error, you can follow these steps:
Check the Characteristic Definition:
- Go to the transaction code CT04 (Characteristic Maintenance).
- Enter the characteristic that is causing the error and check its settings.
- Ensure that a valid unit of measure is assigned to the characteristic.
Assign a Unit of Measure:
- If no unit of measure is assigned, you can add one by editing the characteristic.
- Make sure to select an appropriate SI unit that corresponds to the dimension.
Check Material Master Data:
- If the error is related to a material, check the material master data using transaction code MM03.
- Ensure that the relevant views (like Basic Data, Purchasing, etc.) have the correct units of measure assigned.
Review Class and Object Dependencies:
- If the characteristic is part of a class, check the class definition using transaction code CL02.
- Ensure that the class and its characteristics are correctly configured.
Transport Requests:
