  • Show details Hide details
  • What causes this issue?

You want to split or merge to target class &V1&. However, some objects
in the source class have already been classified more than once in the
class type of the target class. This means you cannot split or merge
    the classes.

    System Response

The system checks for multiple classification of the objects to be
moved in the class type of the source and target classes. The source
class and target class are not checked. You cannot reallocate the
objects if the objects are also allocated to other classes of these
    class types.

    How to fix this error?

Use another target class or delete the other allocations first.

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message CL639 - Reassignment to class & class type & not possible ?

The SAP error message CL639, which states "Reassignment to class & class type & not possible," typically occurs when there is an attempt to reassign an object (like a material or equipment) to a class that is not compatible with its current class type. This can happen in the context of classification in SAP, where objects are assigned to classes for better organization and management.

    Causes:

    1. Class Type Mismatch: The object you are trying to reassign belongs to a different class type than the target class. Each class type has specific characteristics and attributes, and SAP does not allow reassignment between incompatible types.
    2. Object Status: The object may be in a status that does not allow changes to its classification.
    3. Authorization Issues: The user may not have the necessary authorizations to perform the reassignment.
    4. Configuration Issues: There may be configuration settings in the classification system that prevent the reassignment.

    Solutions:

    1. Check Class Types: Verify the class type of the object you are trying to reassign and ensure that the target class has the same class type.
    2. Review Object Status: Ensure that the object is not locked or in a status that prevents changes. If necessary, change the status to allow for reassignment.
    3. User Authorizations: Check if the user has the necessary authorizations to perform the reassignment. If not, contact your SAP security administrator to obtain the required permissions.
    4. Consult Configuration: Review the configuration settings in the classification system to ensure that there are no restrictions on the reassignment process.
    5. Use Correct Transaction: Make sure you are using the correct transaction code for the reassignment process. For example, use transaction CL02 for changing classes.
