CL528
- Multiple classification not allowed ?The SAP error message CL528 "Multiple classification not allowed" typically occurs when you attempt to classify an object (like a material, equipment, or document) in multiple classes that are not permitted by the system configuration. This is often related to the classification system in SAP, which allows you to categorize objects using classes and characteristics.
Cause:
- Incorrect Class Assignment: The object you are trying to classify is already assigned to a class, and the system does not allow multiple classifications for that object.
- Configuration Settings: The classification settings in the system may be configured to restrict multiple classifications for certain object types.
- Object Type Restrictions: Some object types in SAP may inherently support only single classification.
Solution:
- Check Current Class Assignment: Verify if the object is already classified under a different class. You can do this by checking the classification data for the object.
- Remove Existing Classification: If the object is already classified and you want to assign it to a new class, you may need to remove the existing classification first.
- Review Class Configuration: Check the configuration of the classes in transaction CL02 (Change Class) or CL03 (Display Class) to see if the settings allow for multiple classifications.
- Consult Documentation: Review the SAP documentation or help files related to classification to understand the specific rules and configurations that apply to your scenario.
- Contact SAP Support: If you are unable to resolve the issue, consider reaching out to SAP support or your internal SAP team for assistance.
