CKCC040
- Price update has already been allowed ?The SAP error message CKCC040, which states "Price update has already been allowed," typically occurs in the context of material valuation and pricing in the SAP system, particularly when dealing with the Material Ledger and actual costing.
Cause:
This error usually arises when there is an attempt to update the price of a material that has already been processed for a specific period. The system prevents further updates to ensure data integrity and consistency in financial reporting. The following scenarios can lead to this error:
- Price Change Attempt: A user tries to change the price of a material after the price update has already been executed for that period.
- Period Closing: The accounting period has been closed, and any changes to prices are not allowed.
- Material Ledger Settings: The settings in the Material Ledger may restrict price updates after certain conditions are met.
Solution:
To resolve the CKCC040 error, consider the following steps:
Check Period Status: Verify if the accounting period is still open. If it is closed, you may need to reopen the period (if permissible) to make the necessary changes.
Review Price Change Attempts: Ensure that you are not trying to change the price for a period where the price update has already been allowed. If you need to adjust prices, you may need to do so in the next open period.
Use Transaction CK11N: If you need to update the price, you can use transaction CK11N (Create Cost Estimate with Quantity Structure) to create a new cost estimate for the material. This will allow you to set a new price for future periods.
Consult with Finance Team: If you are unsure about the implications of reopening a period or changing prices, consult with your finance or controlling team to ensure compliance with accounting policies.
Check Configuration: Review the configuration settings in the Material Ledger to ensure they align with your business processes. This may involve checking the settings for price updates and period closing.
