Message text: Different quantities or units found. Quantity check is not possible.
Possible causes:
The pieces of equipment assigned to the<DS:DE.CCM_FUNCID>function iden
tifier</> have different materials. After comparison with the table that
contains the valid parts for the corresponding iPPE structure nodes,
these materials have different quantities or units.
You have allowed the (equipment) BOM mode in Customizing. The structure
gaps and (equipment) BOM items that belong to a function identifier have
different units of measure.
You have allowed the (equipment) BOM mode in Customizing. The structure
gaps and (equipment) BOM items that belong to a function identifier have
the same unit of measure but it does not match the unit of measure in
the iPPE structure nodes.
The system cannot execute a quantity check for the relevant materials.
Check if the table of valid parts for the corresponding iPPE structure
nodes has been set up correctly and run the quantity check manually.
If you have allowed the BOM mode, check the units of measure of the
structure gaps and BOM items. If you can correct the values, you can run
the quality check again. Otherwise you have to check the quantities
manually.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

- Different quantities or units found. Quantity check is not possible. ?The SAP error message CCMM023 ("Different quantities or units found. Quantity check is not possible.") typically occurs in the context of materials management, particularly when dealing with inventory management, production orders, or goods movements. This error indicates that there is a mismatch in the quantities or units of measure between the documents or transactions being processed.
Causes:
- Unit of Measure Mismatch: The units of measure for the materials involved in the transaction do not match. For example, if one document is in kilograms and another is in grams, SAP cannot perform a quantity check.
- Different Quantities: The quantities specified in the transaction do not align with the expected quantities in the system.
- Configuration Issues: There may be issues with the configuration of the material master data, particularly in the units of measure settings.
- Incomplete Data: Missing or incomplete data in the relevant documents can lead to discrepancies in quantities or units.
Solutions:
Check Units of Measure:
- Verify the units of measure for the materials involved in the transaction. Ensure that they are consistent across all relevant documents.
- You can check the material master data (transaction code MM03) to see the base unit of measure and any alternative units of measure.
Review Document Details:
- Look at the documents involved in the transaction (e.g., purchase orders, production orders, goods movements) to ensure that the quantities and units of measure are correctly specified.
- Ensure that the quantities in the documents match the expected quantities in the system.
Adjust Configuration:
- If the issue is related to configuration, you may need to review the settings in the material master or the relevant configuration settings in the SAP system.
- Check the settings for the unit of measure conversion in the material master.
