  • What causes this issue?

You are classifying an object and want to assign values to a
characteristic. However, inheritance data prevents you from doing this.

    System Response

The system checks whether the object is classified with more than one
class. If it is, the system checks whether the same characteristic is
used in more than one of these classes. If the characteristic has
different values assigned to it in two different class hierarchies, and
the class with which you want to classify your object inherits the
values, you cannot assign a value to the characteristic. The object
must have the same value in both classes. However, in this case the
object would have two different values for the same characteristic, so
no value is assigned to the characteristic.

    How to fix this error?

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
