  • What causes this issue?

You have already entered values for this characteristic. You are
entering new values, and have entered the value &v1&. This value exists
    already.
The system also compares the neutral values to their language-dependent
value descriptions. If a combination of neutral value and value
description is not unique, you see an error message.
    Example:
    Neutral value,,Language-dependent description
    yes,,no
    no,,yes
In these combinations of value and value description, the system cannot
interpret the values "yes" and "no" uniquely. It therefore rejects the
    combinations.
    Note
The system checks the combination for all languages in which you
    entered value descriptione.

    System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

    How to fix this error?

Enter a value that does not yet exist.
Make sure that the neutral values and the language-dependent
value descriptions are unique in all languages.

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message C1034 - Value & entered more than once ?

The SAP error message C1034 ("Value & entered more than once") typically occurs when you are trying to enter a value in a field that is expected to be unique, but the value you are trying to enter already exists in the system. This can happen in various contexts, such as when entering data in a transaction, creating a master record, or updating existing records.

    Cause:

    1. Duplicate Entry: The most common cause is that the value you are trying to enter already exists in the database for that particular field. This could be a duplicate key, such as a customer ID, material number, or any other unique identifier.
    2. Configuration Issues: Sometimes, the configuration of the system may enforce uniqueness on certain fields that are not intended to be unique.
    3. Data Migration Issues: If data has been migrated from another system, there may be duplicates that were not cleaned up before the migration.

    Solution:

    1. Check for Existing Values: Before entering a new value, check the database or the relevant table to see if the value already exists. You can do this by using transaction codes like SE16 or SE11 to view the relevant table.
    2. Modify the Entry: If the value already exists, you will need to either modify your entry to a unique value or update the existing record if that is appropriate.
    3. Data Cleanup: If duplicates are found in the system that should not exist, consider cleaning up the data to remove duplicates or consolidate records as necessary.
    4. Review Configuration: If you believe the uniqueness constraint is incorrect, review the configuration settings in the relevant module to ensure that the field should indeed be unique.
    5. Consult Documentation: Check SAP documentation or consult with your SAP administrator for specific guidance related to the module you are working with.

    Related Information:

    • Transaction Codes: Familiarize yourself with transaction codes like SE16 (Data Browser) or SE11 (Data Dictionary) to investigate the underlying data.
    • SAP Notes: Search for relevant SAP Notes that may address this specific error or provide additional context.
    • User Authorization: Ensure that you have the necessary authorizations to make changes to the records in question.
    • Testing in Development: If you are making changes to configuration or data, consider testing in a development or quality assurance environment before applying changes to production.

If the issue persists after trying the above solutions, it may be beneficial to reach out to your SAP support team for further assistance.
