What causes this issue?

You used a change number to start recipe maintenance.
Characteristic &V1& has already been edited in the master recipe using
a different change number with the same valid-from date. For this
reason, you may not change characteristic &V1& for this date, that is,
with the change number you have entered.

System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

The characteristic is locked and cannot be changed in the
characteristic overview.
Characteristics are not locked in the process instruction assistant
because the characteristic structure is not created until you exit the
assistant. However, your changes are <ZH>not</> copied to the
characteristic structure if the locked characteristic is affected by
them.
In this case, the system terminates process instruction maintenance and
writes a corresponding message to the log.
