    The process message used to report the selected value contains the
    characteristic &V1&. According to the process instruction, the value
    of this characteristic is to be assigned automatically in the PI sheet.
    However, the characteristic is not set up for automatic value
    assignment in Customizing.

    If the characteristic &V1& is a required characteristic:
    You can manually assign a value to the characteristic.
    If the characteristic &V1& is not required:
    You cannot assign a value to the characteristic. However, the process
    message is sent nevertheless.

    How to fix this error?

    If the characteristic &V1& is a required characteristic:
    Assign the characteristic value manually.
    If the characteristic &V1& is not required, choose one of the following
    possiblities to suit your requirements:
    Send the process message without the characteristic &V1&.
    If the characteristic &V1& is to be contained in the message,
    deactivate the process instruction and create the required process
    message manually.
