  • What causes this issue?

You want to execute a delta initialization for source &V1&, and you
already executed initialization runs for this source in the past.
However, before you can execute a new delta initialization, the data of
previous selections has to be updated in BW.
are variables correct? mail to Klaus moser

    System Response

    The extraction was terminated.

    How to fix this error?

Execute a delta extraction for source &V1&. This loads the current data
to BW. You can only perform a new delta initialization extraction once
the delta extraction is completed. You must perform the delta
initialization on the same day as the delta run so that there are no
    gaps between the extraction periods.
Currently, source &V1& was extracted up to the date &V2& and time &V3&.
The delta initialization you requested would perform an extraction,
based on the selection criteria, up to the date &V4& and time &V3&. For
all previous data requests, the time between the two dates would not be
extracted. For this reason, you have to execute a delta request before
the delta initialization, so that previous data requests up to &V3& are
    also extracted.

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message BWFIAA008 - Extraction of &1 not possible - first request delta ?

The SAP error message BWFIAA008 indicates that the extraction of a specific data source (denoted by &1) is not possible because it is the first request for delta extraction. This typically occurs in the context of SAP BW (Business Warehouse) when trying to extract data from a source system using delta extraction methods.

    Cause:

    1. First Delta Request: The error usually arises when you attempt to perform a delta extraction for a data source that has not yet been initialized. Delta extraction requires that the initial load (full load) has been completed successfully before any delta requests can be processed.
    2. Initialization Not Completed: If the initialization process for the data source has not been executed, the system does not have a baseline from which to calculate changes (deltas).
    3. Data Source Configuration: There may be issues with the configuration of the data source in the source system or in BW.

    Solution:

    1. Perform Initial Load: Ensure that you have executed the initial load for the data source. This can typically be done through the Data Warehousing Workbench in SAP BW.
      • Go to the DataSource in the BW system and perform the initial load.
    2. Check Data Source Status: Verify the status of the data source in the source system. Ensure that it is set up correctly for delta extraction.
    3. Monitor Process Chains: If you are using process chains to manage data loads, check the process chain logs to ensure that the initial load was successful and that there are no errors.
    4. Reinitialize Delta: If necessary, you may need to reinitialize the delta for the data source. This can be done by deleting the delta initialization and performing the initial load again.
    5. Check for Data: Ensure that there is data available in the source system for extraction. If there is no data, the delta extraction will not be able to proceed.

    Related Information:

    • Transaction Codes: You can use transaction codes like RSA1 (Data Warehousing Workbench) to manage data sources and monitor data loads.
    • Logs and Monitoring: Use transaction RSMO to monitor the status of data loads and check for any errors or warnings.
    • Documentation: Refer to SAP Help documentation for detailed steps on initializing delta extraction and managing data sources.

By following these steps, you should be able to resolve the BWFIAA008 error and successfully perform delta extractions for your data source.
