    System Response

    The extraction was terminated.

    How to fix this error?

During extraction of data for asset accouting, make sure you use the
correct order of characteristics. You first have to extract the
"asset subnumber (flexible updating)" 0ASSET_ATTR and then the data
for the "depreciation area real or derived" 0ASSET_AFAB. Then the
asset master data will have been loaded completely and you will be
able to extract all of the rest of the data that refers to assets
    in any order.
The InfoSource belongng to the characteristics then have to be loaded
    in the following order:
    0ASSET_ATTR_TEXT

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message BWFIAA004 - Extraction of & not possible. Extract & first ?

The SAP error message BWFIAA004 indicates that there is an issue with the extraction of data from a specific source. The message typically states: "Extraction of & not possible. Extract & first." This error usually occurs in the context of data extraction processes, particularly when working with SAP BW (Business Warehouse) or SAP BI (Business Intelligence).

    Cause:

The error generally arises due to one of the following reasons:

    1. Dependency on Previous Extraction: The extraction process you are trying to execute is dependent on a previous extraction that has not been completed successfully. This means that the system requires data from a prior step before it can proceed with the current extraction.

    2. Incorrect Sequence of Operations: The extraction sequence may not be followed correctly. For example, if you are trying to extract data from a DataSource that requires prior data to be loaded or processed, and that has not been done yet, this error will occur.

    3. DataSource Configuration Issues: There may be configuration issues with the DataSource itself, such as missing settings or incorrect parameters that prevent the extraction from proceeding.

    Solution:

To resolve the BWFIAA004 error, you can take the following steps:

    1. Check Extraction Sequence: Review the extraction sequence and ensure that all required previous extractions have been completed successfully. If any prior extraction has failed, address that issue first.

    2. Run the Required Extraction: Execute the extraction for the DataSource mentioned in the error message. This may involve running a specific InfoPackage or data load process that is required before the current extraction can proceed.

    3. Review DataSource Configuration: Check the configuration of the DataSource in SAP BW. Ensure that all necessary settings are correctly configured and that there are no missing parameters.

    4. Monitor Process Chains: If you are using process chains for data loading, monitor the process chain to ensure that all steps are executed in the correct order and that there are no errors in previous steps.

    5. Check for Locks or Authorizations: Ensure that there are no locks on the DataSource or that you have the necessary authorizations to perform the extraction.

    6. Consult Logs and Traces: Review the logs and traces for more detailed error messages that can provide additional context on what might be causing the issue.
