Message class: BT - Background processing messages
Message number: 837
Message text: All servers are busy: No resources available
For processing parallel RFCs, the system searched for an application
server on which an RFC can be executed. Here it was established that
none of the application servers currently have any free resources. This
is a temporary problem.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
There are several ways to solve the problem:
Wait until the resources are available again
Increase the number of dialog work processes on the application servers
that are used for processing parallel RFCs
Install additional application servers on your system or include
additional application servers in the server group that is responsible
for processing parallel RFCs (see transaction RZ12).

- All servers are busy: No resources available ?The SAP error message BT837, which states "All servers are busy: No resources available," typically indicates that the system is unable to process a request because all available application servers are currently busy handling other requests. This can happen for various reasons, including high system load, insufficient resources, or configuration issues.
Causes:
- High Load: The system may be experiencing a high volume of transactions or user requests, leading to all application servers being occupied.
- Insufficient Resources: The hardware resources (CPU, memory, etc.) allocated to the SAP system may be insufficient to handle the current workload.
- Configuration Issues: The configuration of the SAP system may not be optimized for the current usage patterns, leading to inefficient resource allocation.
- Long-running Processes: There may be long-running background jobs or processes that are consuming resources and preventing new requests from being processed.
- Network Issues: Network latency or connectivity issues can also contribute to the perception that servers are busy.
Solutions:
- Monitor System Performance: Use transaction codes like ST03N (Workload Analysis) and ST06 (Operating System Monitor) to analyze system performance and identify bottlenecks.
- Increase Resources: If the system is consistently under heavy load, consider scaling up the hardware resources (CPU, memory) or adding additional application servers to distribute the load.
- Optimize Configuration: Review and optimize the configuration settings for the SAP system, including parameters related to the number of work processes and the distribution of load across servers.
- Manage Background Jobs: Check for long-running background jobs using transaction SM37 and consider rescheduling or optimizing them to free up resources.
- Load Balancing: Ensure that load balancing is properly configured to distribute requests evenly across available application servers.
- Check for Errors: Review system logs (transaction SM21) for any errors or warnings that may indicate underlying issues affecting server availability.
- Restart Services: In some cases, restarting the affected application servers or services may help to clear up resource locks or other temporary issues.
