Message text: Immutable node selected as target
The node you selected to copy to another node cannot be changed. This
node could have originated from a record that has not been locked yet.
During the deduplication of several records, all nodes of the cleansing
tree are immutable if they are not assigned to the target record.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
During deduplication, you need to make sure that one record is
classified as the target record.
When you select the <ZK>Keep </>checkbox<ZK>, </> the corresponding data
entry is assigned to the target record and is no longer immutable. If
the target node's <ZK>Keep </>checkbox cannot be changed, check whether
any of its parent nodes has the <ZK>Keep </>checkbox selected.
Drag the node to a kept parent node that is already assigned to a locked
record. By doing so, you assign that node to the target record also.
Afterwards, this node no longer is immutable.

BS_CC_MESSAGES001
- Immutable node selected as target ?The SAP error message BS_CC_MESSAGES001: Immutable node selected as target typically occurs in the context of SAP Business Suite applications, particularly when working with the SAP Cloud Connector or during data modeling in SAP BW/4HANA or SAP Analytics Cloud. This error indicates that an attempt was made to select a node (or object) that is immutable, meaning it cannot be modified or used as a target for certain operations.
Cause:
- Immutable Node: The node you are trying to select as a target is defined as immutable in the system. This means that it is not designed to be changed or updated.
- Incorrect Configuration: The configuration or mapping you are trying to perform may not be valid due to the nature of the selected node.
- Data Model Restrictions: In data modeling scenarios, certain nodes may be restricted from being used as targets due to their properties or the context in which they are being used.
Solution:
- Check Node Properties: Review the properties of the node you are trying to select. Ensure that it is not marked as immutable. If it is, you will need to select a different node that is mutable.
- Use a Different Target: If the selected node is immutable, look for an alternative node that can be used as a target for your operation.
- Review Documentation: Consult the SAP documentation or help resources related to the specific application or module you are working with. This can provide insights into which nodes are mutable and which are not.
- Adjust Configuration: If you are working with a configuration or mapping, ensure that it aligns with the requirements of the nodes involved. You may need to adjust your approach based on the limitations of the immutable node.
- Contact Support: If you are unable to resolve the issue, consider reaching out to SAP support or your internal IT team for assistance. They may have additional insights or access to logs that can help diagnose the problem.
