SAP Error Message - Details

  • Message type: E = Error

  • Message class: BRAIN -

  • Message number: 866

  • Message text: No unposted values displayed on compound parent &1

  • Show details Hide details
  • What causes this issue?

If displaying unposted values is selected for both the compound child
and the compound parent, and both the compound child and compound parent
are in the drilldown, no unposted values will be displayed for the
compound parent. The reason for this is that unposted values would then
have to be displayed for the compound parent that no child actually
exists for. Because of the order in the drilldown, this cannot be
displayed. In this case, displaying unposted values on the compound
    parent is therefore suppressed.

    System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

    How to fix this error?

To display unposted values on the compound parent, either remove the
compound child from the drilldown or place the compound parent before
the compound child in the drilldown.

The SAP error message BRAIN866 ("No unposted values displayed on compound parent &1") typically occurs in the context of SAP BW (Business Warehouse) or SAP BI (Business Intelligence) when you are trying to display or analyze data in a report or query, and there are no unposted values available for the specified compound parent.

    Cause:

    1. No Unposted Values: The primary cause of this error is that there are no unposted values available for the specified compound parent. This could be due to:

      • Data not being loaded into the InfoProvider.
      • The data being posted or processed already.
      • Filters applied in the query that exclude all relevant data.
    2. Data Load Issues: There may have been issues during the data load process, resulting in missing data.

    3. Query Design: The query might be designed in such a way that it does not retrieve any unposted values due to the selection criteria or aggregations.

    4. Authorization Issues: Sometimes, the user may not have the necessary authorizations to view certain data.

    Solution:

    1. Check Data Load: Verify that the data has been successfully loaded into the InfoProvider. You can do this by checking the data load monitor (transaction RSA1) to ensure that there are no errors in the data load process.

    2. Review Query Filters: Examine the filters and selection criteria applied in the query. Ensure that they are set correctly and that they do not exclude all relevant data.

    3. Check for Posted Data: If the data has already been posted, you may need to look for the posted values instead of unposted values.

    4. Authorization Check: Ensure that the user has the necessary authorizations to access the data. You can check this in transaction SU53 or by consulting with your security team.

    5. Data Source Configuration: Review the configuration of the data source and ensure that it is set up correctly to allow for the retrieval of unposted values.

    6. Reprocess Data: If there are issues with the data load, you may need to reprocess the data or perform a delta load to ensure that all relevant data is available.
