  • What causes this issue?

The participating InfoProvider &V2& is a stock InfoCube, meaning that
it contains at least one stock key figure. There must therefore be a
time characteristic &V1& (NCUMTIM) in the MultiProvider and &V1& can
only be assigned to itself. For InfoProvider &V2&, &V1& may not be
    assigned to the characteristic '&V3&'.

    System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

    How to fix this error?

Add &V1& to the Multiprovider and identify &V1& for the InfoProvider
    &V2& with itself.
If you want to make &V1&invisible to the Multiprovider in the
    QueryDesigner, you can set&V1& the<LS> pro</><LS>vider-specifi</><LS>c
    properties</> to selection = [4] not permitted and navigation = [2] not
    permitted.

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message BRAIN348 - Time characteristic &1 must be assigned identically for &2 ?

The SAP error message BRAIN348 indicates that there is an inconsistency in the assignment of a time characteristic in the context of a data model or InfoProvider. Specifically, it suggests that the time characteristic (e.g., a fiscal year, month, or day) must be assigned in the same way across different objects or components, but it is not.

    Cause:

The error typically arises in scenarios where:

    1. Inconsistent Time Characteristics: The time characteristic (e.g., fiscal year) is defined differently in two or more places (e.g., in different InfoProviders or data models).
    2. Data Model Configuration: There may be a mismatch in the configuration of the data model, such as when creating or modifying InfoObjects, InfoProviders, or queries.
    3. Data Source Issues: If you are using multiple data sources, they may not be aligned in terms of how they define or use the time characteristic.

    Solution:

To resolve the BRAIN348 error, you can take the following steps:

      • Review the configuration of your data model, including InfoObjects and InfoProviders, to ensure that the time characteristics are set up identically.
    3. Adjust Queries:

      • If the error occurs in a query, check the query definition to ensure that the time characteristics are being used consistently.
    4. Reassign Time Characteristics:

      • If you find discrepancies, reassign the time characteristics to ensure they match across the relevant components.
    5. Transport Requests:

      • If changes were made in a development environment, ensure that the transport requests are correctly moved to the production environment, maintaining consistency.
    6. Consult Documentation:
