Message text: Normalization to query result not possible due to insufficient authoriz.
A key figure or a structure element has to be normalized to the query
result, which is the result of the query without a dynamic filter. This
is only possible if you are authorized for the execution of a query
without dynamic filter, because otherwise there could be conclusions
drawn on the result for which there is no authorization.
The same goes for the operators %RT and SUM_RT.
The associated cells are output as 'X' (not_exist).
Use normalizing on overall result or the operator %GT or
SUM_GT.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

- Normalization to query result not possible due to insufficient authoriz. ?The SAP error message BRAIN138 indicates that normalization to the query result is not possible due to insufficient authorizations. This typically occurs in the context of SAP BW (Business Warehouse) or SAP BI (Business Intelligence) when a user attempts to execute a query or access data for which they do not have the necessary permissions.
Cause:
- Insufficient Authorizations: The user does not have the required authorizations to access the data or execute the query. This could be due to missing roles or authorizations in the user's profile.
- Data Source Restrictions: The data source being queried may have restrictions that prevent certain users from accessing it.
- Query Design Issues: The query itself may be designed in a way that requires additional authorizations that the user does not possess.
Solution:
Check User Authorizations:
- Verify the user's roles and authorizations in the SAP system. This can be done by checking the user profile in transaction code SU01 or PFCG.
- Ensure that the user has the necessary authorizations for the InfoObjects, InfoProviders, and queries they are trying to access.
Adjust Roles and Authorizations:
- If the user lacks the necessary authorizations, you may need to adjust their roles or create new ones that include the required permissions.
- Consult with your SAP security team or administrator to ensure that the user is granted the appropriate access.
Review Query Design:
- If the query is complex, review its design to ensure that it does not require additional authorizations that are not granted to the user.
- Simplifying the query or breaking it down into smaller parts may help in identifying the specific authorization issue.
Testing:
- After making changes to authorizations or query design, test the query again to see if the issue is resolved.
Related Information:
Transaction Codes:
Authorization Objects: Familiarize yourself with the relevant authorization objects that pertain to BW queries, such as S_BI_WA
(for BW authorizations) and S_BI_CONT
(for content access).
Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or help guides for detailed information on authorizations in SAP BW/BI.
Support: If the issue persists after checking authorizations, consider reaching out to SAP support or your internal SAP helpdesk for further assistance.
