  • What causes this issue?

You have maintained the same ISO code for two different measurement
    units with the same dimension.

    System Response

You can assign the same ISO code to two different measurement units
    with the same dimension,
However, this can lead to EDI problems later.
<DS:GLOS.34CA677092920EC4E0000800099245EC>EDI</> uses the ISO codes as
a measurement unit key. If the same ISO code is maintained for several
measurement units, a different measurement unit can be assigned to the
ISO code measurement unit in the target system as in the source system.
In addition, a unique assignment of the ISO code to a measurement unit
is a prerequisite for implementing the mobile DSD solution.

    How to fix this error?

Try to keep measurement unit <-> ISO code assignments unique.

    Procedure for System Administrators

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message BM060 - ISO code & is already used for measurement unit & ?

The SAP error message BM060 typically indicates that there is an issue with the ISO code for a measurement unit that is already in use. This error can occur in various contexts within SAP, particularly when dealing with units of measure in materials management or inventory management.

    Cause:

    1. Duplicate ISO Code: The error arises when you attempt to create or modify a measurement unit with an ISO code that is already assigned to another measurement unit in the system.
    2. Incorrect Configuration: There may be a configuration issue where the same ISO code is inadvertently linked to multiple measurement units.
    3. Data Integrity Issues: There could be inconsistencies in the master data where the same ISO code is being referenced incorrectly.

    Solution:

    1. Check Existing Measurement Units:

      • Use transaction code CUNI (Unit of Measure) to check the existing measurement units and their associated ISO codes.
      • Look for the ISO code that is causing the conflict and see which measurement unit it is currently assigned to.
    2. Modify or Delete the Duplicate:

      • If you find that the ISO code is indeed being used by another measurement unit, you can either modify the existing measurement unit to use a different ISO code or delete the duplicate entry if it is not needed.
    3. Create a New ISO Code:

      • If the ISO code is essential for your business processes, consider creating a new ISO code for the measurement unit you are trying to add or modify.
    4. Data Consistency Check:

      • Run data consistency checks to ensure that there are no other conflicts or issues in the master data that could lead to similar errors.
    5. Consult Documentation:

      • Refer to SAP documentation or help resources for specific guidelines on managing measurement units and ISO codes.

    Related Information:

    • Transaction Codes: Familiarize yourself with relevant transaction codes such as CUNI for unit of measure maintenance and MM02 for material master changes.
    • SAP Notes: Check SAP Notes for any known issues or patches related to measurement units and ISO codes.
    • User Roles and Authorizations: Ensure that you have the necessary authorizations to make changes to measurement units and their configurations.
