  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message BIL126 - Rate &1 and &2 are both assigned to TOU exception program &3 ?

The SAP error message BIL126 indicates that there is a conflict in the assignment of rate types in the context of Time of Use (TOU) exception programs. Specifically, it suggests that two different rates (denoted as &1 and &2) are both assigned to the same TOU exception program (denoted as &3). This can lead to confusion in billing calculations, as the system does not know which rate to apply.

    Cause:

    1. Duplicate Assignments: The same TOU exception program has been assigned multiple rates that should be mutually exclusive.
    2. Configuration Errors: There may be an error in the configuration of the TOU exception programs or the rates associated with them.
    3. Data Entry Mistakes: Incorrect data entry during the setup of rates or TOU programs can lead to this conflict.

    Solution:

    1. Review Assignments: Check the assignments of rates to the TOU exception program in the configuration settings. Ensure that each TOU exception program is assigned only one rate type.
    2. Modify Configuration: If you find that both rates are indeed assigned to the same TOU exception program, you will need to modify the configuration to remove one of the rates.
    3. Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or guidelines for setting up TOU exception programs and rates to ensure compliance with best practices.
    4. Testing: After making changes, conduct thorough testing to ensure that the billing calculations are functioning correctly without conflicts.
