Message text: All available subscreen containers with tab strips are in use
There are only five subscreen containers with tab strips. Under normal
circumstances this supply should be more than sufficient. If you want
to display many encapsulated BDT dialog screens and/or many BDT
instances at the same time, the situation can arise that there are no
more subscreen containers.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
Reduce the number of encapsulated BDT dialog fields and/or the number
of BDT instances that you want to display at the same time.

BDT_SUBSCREEN104
- All available subscreen containers with tab strips are in use ?The SAP error message BDT_SUBSCREEN104 indicates that all available subscreen containers with tab strips are currently in use. This typically occurs in the context of Business Data Toolset (BDT) or when working with custom screens that utilize tab strips for organizing subscreens.
Cause:
- Exceeding Subscreen Limit: The error arises when the system attempts to display more subscreens with tab strips than the maximum allowed. Each tab strip can only hold a limited number of subscreens, and if this limit is reached, the system cannot display additional subscreens.
- Configuration Issues: There may be a misconfiguration in the BDT settings or the way the subscreens are defined in the application.
- Custom Development: If there are custom developments or enhancements that add additional subscreens, they may inadvertently exceed the limits set by the standard SAP configuration.
Solution:
- Review Subscreen Usage: Check the configuration of the subscreens and tab strips in your application. Ensure that you are not trying to load more subscreens than the system can handle.
- Optimize Tab Strips: If possible, consolidate or reorganize the subscreens to reduce the number of tab strips being used. This may involve combining related functionalities into fewer tabs.
- Increase Subscreen Capacity: If you have control over the development environment, you may consider increasing the number of subscreen containers available. This typically requires ABAP development skills and should be done with caution.
- Check for Custom Code: If there are custom enhancements or modifications, review the code to ensure that it is not inadvertently causing the issue by trying to load too many subscreens.
- Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or notes related to BDT and subscreen management for any specific guidelines or limitations.
