  • What causes this issue?

A report is generated from the definitions you make when you specify a
query for the layout of the list. The name of this report always begins
with AQ and the following characters contain information about the user
group, clients and query itself. These report names are protected, i.e.
they are reserved for the query and normally may not be used for other
    purposes.
You tried to create a query with a certain name, but a report already
exists with the same name as would be created later on from the query.
No query can be created under this name because it would overwrite an
    existing report.

    System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

    How to fix this error?

First check which user owns the report in the message and why he chose
that name. Delete or rename the report if this is possible to avoid
restrictions when choosing your query names. If this is not possible,
you cannot create a query with the given name.

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message AQV115 - Choose a different query name (report & already exists) ?

The SAP error message AQV115, which states "Choose a different query name (report & already exists)," typically occurs when you are trying to create a new query or report in SAP Query (transaction code SQ01) with a name that already exists in the system. This is a common issue when users attempt to save a query with a name that has already been used for another query or report.

    Cause:

    • The primary cause of this error is that the query name you are trying to use is already taken by another query or report in the SAP system. Each query must have a unique name to avoid conflicts and ensure proper identification.

    Solution:

    1. Choose a Different Name: The simplest solution is to select a different, unique name for your query. You can modify the name slightly or use a naming convention that ensures uniqueness.

    2. Check Existing Queries: Before creating a new query, you can check the list of existing queries to see if the name you want to use is already in use. You can do this by:

      • Going to transaction code SQ01.
      • Selecting the appropriate user group or area.
      • Reviewing the list of existing queries to find a suitable name.
    3. Delete or Modify Existing Query: If the existing query is no longer needed, you can delete it or modify it to free up the name. However, be cautious with this approach, as it may affect other users or processes relying on that query.

    4. Use a Naming Convention: Implement a naming convention for your queries that includes identifiers such as your initials, department, or date to help avoid name conflicts in the future.

    Related Information:

    • Transaction Codes: Familiarize yourself with relevant transaction codes such as:

      • SQ01: SAP Query: Maintain Queries
      • SQ02: SAP Query: Maintain InfoSets
      • SQ03: SAP Query: Maintain User Groups
