  • What causes this issue?

You want to generate an investment program structure from the
enterprise organization. In the current program structure, program
position &v1& is an end node position to which measures and/or
    appropriation requests are assigned.
In the new program structure being generated, subordinate program
positions are assigned to these program positions, so that program
position &v1& is no longer an end node position in the new program
structure. However, measures/appropriation requests are only allowed to
be assigned to end nodes of the investment program.

    System Response

Generating the new program structure from the enterprise organization
    is not allowed.

    How to fix this error?

In order to be able to generate the program structure, you have to do
    one of the following:
Make program position &v1& an end node position in the enterprise
    organization.
Delete the assignments of measures/appropriation requests to this
    program position.

    Procedure for System Administrators

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message APEO024 - Measures or approp. requests are assigned to non-end-node position &1 ?

The SAP error message APEO024 indicates that there are measures or appropriate requests assigned to a non-end-node position in the context of SAP's Advanced Planning and Optimization (APO) module, particularly in the context of planning books and data views.

    Cause:

    This error typically arises when:

    1. Incorrect Assignment: Measures or requests are assigned to a node in the planning hierarchy that is not a terminal (end-node) position. In APO, only end nodes should have measures or requests assigned to them.
    2. Hierarchy Structure: The structure of the planning hierarchy may not be correctly defined, leading to assignments that violate the expected configuration.

    Solution:

To resolve the APEO024 error, you can take the following steps:

    1. Check Node Assignments:

      • Review the planning hierarchy and ensure that measures or requests are only assigned to end nodes. You can do this by navigating to the relevant planning book or data view in the SAP APO system.
    2. Reassign Measures/Requests:

      • If you find that measures or requests are incorrectly assigned to non-end nodes, reassign them to the appropriate end nodes in the hierarchy.
    3. Review Planning Book Configuration:

      • Check the configuration of the planning book and ensure that the structure is correctly set up. This includes verifying that the key figures, characteristics, and other elements are properly defined.
    4. Hierarchy Maintenance:

      • If necessary, maintain the hierarchy to ensure that all nodes are correctly defined and that there are no orphaned nodes or incorrect relationships.
    5. Consult Documentation:

      • Refer to SAP documentation or help resources for specific guidelines on configuring planning books and hierarchies in APO.
    6. Testing:

      • After making changes, test the planning book or data view to ensure that the error no longer occurs.

    Related Information:

    • SAP Notes: Check for any relevant SAP Notes that may address this specific error or provide additional guidance.
    • APO Documentation: Review the official SAP APO documentation for best practices on planning book configuration and hierarchy management.
