Message text: Not possible to adopt scrap value for time-dependent depreciation term
You are using time-dependent depreciation terms in depreciation area
&V1&. The scrap value in the related dependent depreciation area &V2&
should be identical at every point in time. This is currently not the
case.
The system tried to transfer the scrap value to the dependent
depreciation area &V2&. However, this is not possible, since the
intervals for the time-dependent depreciation terms are different in the
two depreciation areas.
It is not possible to ensure that the scrap value in depreciation area
&V2& is the same. The system is not able to automatically reconcile the
fields.
The system cannot automatically transfer the scrap value to area &V2& as
long as it is not possible to uniquely assign each interval to an
interval in depreciation area &V1&.
The following options are available:
Modify the interval limits for time-dependent depreciation terms in
depreciation area &V2& so that an automatic reconciliation with area
&V1& is possible.
Use the scrap value percentage instead.

AIST014
- Not possible to adopt scrap value for time-dependent depreciation term ?The SAP error message AIST014, which states "Not possible to adopt scrap value for time-dependent depreciation term," typically occurs in the context of asset accounting when there is an issue with the configuration or data related to the asset's depreciation settings.
Cause:
Time-Dependent Depreciation: The error usually arises when you are trying to set or change the scrap value of an asset that is configured for time-dependent depreciation. In this case, the system does not allow the adoption of a scrap value that is not consistent with the depreciation terms defined for the asset.
Inconsistent Data: There may be inconsistencies in the asset master data, such as the depreciation key, useful life, or other parameters that do not align with the expected values for time-dependent depreciation.
Depreciation Key Settings: The depreciation key assigned to the asset may not allow for a scrap value to be set or changed, especially if it is configured to not consider scrap value in its calculations.
Solution:
Check Asset Master Data: Review the asset master data to ensure that the depreciation key and other relevant fields are correctly configured. Make sure that the depreciation key allows for a scrap value.
Review Depreciation Key Configuration: Go to the configuration settings for the depreciation key in the Asset Accounting module (Transaction code: OADB). Ensure that the settings for the depreciation key allow for the adoption of a scrap value.
Adjust Scrap Value: If the asset is set for time-dependent depreciation, you may need to adjust the scrap value in a way that is consistent with the depreciation terms. This may involve changing the depreciation key or adjusting the useful life of the asset.
Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or help resources for specific guidelines on handling scrap values in time-dependent depreciation scenarios.
Use Transaction Codes: You can use transaction codes like AS02 (Change Asset) to modify the asset details and check for any inconsistencies.
