  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message AFWGO_MESSAGES064 - Filters cannot be used for saved data sets ?

The SAP error message AFWGO_MESSAGES064 indicates that filters cannot be applied to saved data sets in the context of SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) or similar SAP applications. This error typically arises when users attempt to apply filters to a data set that has already been saved, which is not supported in certain scenarios.

    Cause:

    1. Data Set Type: The error often occurs when the data set is a saved version of a model or a data source that does not support dynamic filtering.

    3. User Permissions: In some cases, user permissions or roles may restrict the ability to modify or filter saved data sets.

    Solution:

    1. Use Live Data Connections: If possible, use live data connections instead of saved data sets. Live connections allow for dynamic filtering and real-time data access.
    2. Create a New Data Set: Instead of trying to filter a saved data set, create a new data set from the original source and apply the desired filters before saving it.
    3. Check Data Source Compatibility: Ensure that the data source you are using supports filtering. Refer to the documentation for the specific data source to understand its capabilities.
    4. Review User Permissions: Check if your user role has the necessary permissions to apply filters to data sets. If not, contact your system administrator to adjust your permissions.
    5. Consult Documentation: Refer to the SAP documentation or help resources for specific guidelines on working with data sets and filters in your version of SAP.
