- Manual entries are not possible (area defined to adopt identical values) ?The SAP error message AC091 ("Manual entries are not possible (area defined to adopt identical values)") typically occurs in the context of Asset Accounting (FI-AA) when you are trying to make manual entries in a specific area of asset accounting that has been configured to adopt identical values. This means that the system is set up to automatically take values from another area, and manual entries are not allowed in that area.
Cause:
- Configuration Settings: The asset area in question is configured to adopt values from another area (e.g., acquisition values, depreciation values) and does not allow manual entries.
- Asset Class Settings: The asset class may have settings that restrict manual entries for certain fields.
- Transaction Type: The transaction type being used may not allow manual entries for the specified asset area.
Solution:
- Check Configuration: Review the configuration settings for the asset area in transaction code OAOA (Define Asset Areas) or OAYZ (Define Asset Classes). Ensure that the area is set up correctly and that it is intended to allow manual entries if needed.
- Use Correct Transaction: If you need to enter values manually, ensure you are using the correct transaction that allows manual entries for the asset area in question.
- Adjust Asset Class Settings: If the asset class is restricting manual entries, you may need to adjust the settings in transaction code OAOA or OAYZ to allow manual entries for that specific asset class.
- Consult Documentation: Review SAP documentation or consult with your SAP administrator to understand the specific configuration and restrictions in place for the asset area you are working with.
