Message text: The planning run for plant & has already been started
There are two possibilities in this case:
either you have already started the planning run for the plant and this
is being carried out at present
or the planning run is still locked due to a blocking entry from the
previous planning run.
In the second case, you must unlock the planning run. You do this as
described below:
Make sure that no planning run is active as if a planning run is active
when you try to unlock MRP, this could lead to incorrect results.

Select Monitoring -> Lock entries

- The planning run for plant & has already been started ?The SAP error message 61134, which states "The planning run for plant & has already been started," typically occurs in the context of production planning or materials management when a planning run (such as MRP - Material Requirements Planning) is initiated for a specific plant that is already in the process of being executed.
Cause:
- Concurrent Planning Runs: The most common cause of this error is that a planning run for the specified plant is already in progress. SAP does not allow multiple planning runs to be executed simultaneously for the same plant to prevent data inconsistencies.
- Long-Running Processes: If a previous planning run is taking longer than expected, it may still be active when a new planning run is attempted.
- System Locking: The system may have a lock on the planning run process, preventing new runs from being initiated until the current one is completed.
Solution:
- Check Active Planning Runs: Use transaction codes like
MD04
orMD05
to check if there are any active planning runs for the plant in question. You can also check the job overview using transactionSM37
to see if there are any jobs related to MRP that are still running.- Wait for Completion: If a planning run is currently in progress, you may need to wait for it to complete before starting a new one.
- Terminate Long-Running Jobs: If you find that a planning run is stuck or taking too long, you may need to terminate it. This can be done through transaction
SM37
by selecting the job and choosing to cancel it. Be cautious with this approach, as it may lead to data inconsistencies if not handled properly.- Review Job Scheduling: If planning runs are frequently overlapping, consider reviewing the scheduling of these jobs to ensure they do not conflict with each other.
- System Monitoring: Implement monitoring tools or alerts to notify you when planning runs are taking longer than expected, allowing for proactive management.
