- Only one node is allowed on this hierarchy level ?The SAP error message 5P380, which states "Only one node is allowed on this hierarchy level," typically occurs in the context of hierarchical data structures, such as when working with organizational units, cost centers, or other hierarchical master data in SAP.
Cause:
This error usually arises when you attempt to create or modify a hierarchy where the system expects only one node (or entry) at a specific level, but you are trying to add multiple nodes. This can happen in scenarios such as:
To resolve the error, you can take the following steps:
Review Hierarchy Structure: Check the hierarchy structure you are trying to create or modify. Ensure that you are adhering to the rules of the hierarchy, which may only allow one node at the specified level.
Check Existing Nodes: Look for existing nodes at the same level in the hierarchy. If there is already a node present, you may need to either modify that node or remove it before adding a new one.
Adjust Configuration: If you have the necessary permissions, review the configuration settings for the hierarchy. Ensure that the settings allow for the intended structure and that there are no restrictions preventing multiple nodes.
Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or help resources specific to the module you are working with (e.g., SAP Controlling, SAP Organizational Management) for guidance on hierarchy configurations.
Seek Help from SAP Support: If you are unable to resolve the issue, consider reaching out to SAP support or your internal SAP team for assistance. They may provide insights based on the specific configuration of your SAP system.
