lines of the same type in blocks.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

- Select rows of the same type only ?The SAP error message 5P331, "Select rows of the same type only," typically occurs in the context of data selection or manipulation within SAP applications, particularly when working with data sets that involve multiple row types. This error indicates that the operation you are trying to perform requires that all selected rows belong to the same type, but the selection includes rows of different types.
Cause:
- Mixed Row Types: The most common cause of this error is that the user has selected rows from different categories or types. For example, if you are trying to process or manipulate data from a table that contains different types of entries (e.g., different document types, statuses, or categories), the system will not allow this operation.
- Inconsistent Data Structure: The data structure may not support operations across different row types, leading to this error when an attempt is made to perform a batch operation.
- User Input Error: The user may have inadvertently selected rows that are not compatible with each other.
Solution:
- Review Selection Criteria: Ensure that the rows you are trying to select or manipulate are of the same type. Check the criteria you are using to select the rows and adjust them to ensure uniformity.
- Filter Rows: If you are using a selection screen or a report, apply filters to limit the selection to a single row type. This may involve using specific selection options or criteria that target only one type of data.
- Check Data Types: If you are working with custom reports or queries, verify that the underlying data types are consistent. You may need to modify the query or report to ensure that it only pulls data of the same type.
- Consult Documentation: If you are unsure about the types of rows available or how to filter them, refer to the SAP documentation or help resources related to the specific transaction or report you are using.
