What causes this issue?

The budget structure whose validity you have chosen to extend, contains
one or more budget units whose validity has already been extended. The
budget period that you want to extend the structure's validity into has
the same start date as the budget periods of the budget units whose
validity has already been extended.
You can only extend the validity of a budget structure if all its
budget units do not exist in the chosen validity extension period.

System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

How to fix this error?

If the budget structure is still in the status planned in the period in
which it has been extende, then you can delete it and then extend it
into the budget period of your choice.
