Message text: The specified intervals may not overlap
When creating a hierarchy using a copy of another hierarchy, the
intervals can't overlap. When you create a hierarchy using a copy, all
of the source accounts underneath the root node are copied to the new
hierarchy. These accounts would then be present in both hierarchies
and therefore contain overlapping intervals. However, there may not be
any accounts within a relation type valid for the same day in more than
one hierarchy.

- The specified intervals may not overlap ?The SAP error message 1F042 ("The specified intervals may not overlap") typically occurs in the context of scheduling or planning activities, such as when defining time intervals for production orders, maintenance plans, or other scheduling-related functions. This error indicates that the time intervals you are trying to define or modify overlap with existing intervals, which is not allowed in the system.

- Adjust Your Intervals: Modify the start and end times of the intervals you are trying to create or change to ensure they do not overlap with existing intervals.
- Data Validation: Ensure that the data you are entering is correct and does not inadvertently create overlaps.
- Consult Documentation: If you are unsure about the rules governing the intervals, consult the SAP documentation or your organization's guidelines for scheduling and planning.
- Use Transaction Codes: Utilize relevant transaction codes (like
IW38
for maintenance orders orCO02
for production orders) to check and manage the intervals effectively.Related Information:
