  • Show details Hide details
  • What causes this issue?

When it listed the individual postings for a batch or an order, the
program found that some batch where-used records do not exist and the
    function therefore cannot be executed.

    How to fix this error?

Please correct the batch where-used file CHVW using the program
RM07MCHW and then restart the display of the batch where-used list.
Beforehand, find out about the notes for this program and include the
required corrections and changes in your system.
Note that the batch where-used file CHVW is compiled from the material
document file MSEG. You can therefore only correct the CHVW file if the
corresponding MSEG records are still in the system; that is, if they
    have not been reorganized.

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message 12210 - No batch where-used records found -> inconsistency in table CHVW ?

The SAP error message "12210 No batch where-used records found -> inconsistency in table CHVW" typically indicates that there is an inconsistency in the batch management data within the SAP system. This error occurs when the system is unable to find any where-used records for a specific batch in the CHVW table, which is responsible for storing the batch where-used list.

    Cause:

    1. Data Inconsistency: The most common cause of this error is a data inconsistency in the batch management tables. This can happen due to various reasons, such as:

      • Manual deletions or modifications of batch records.
      • Incomplete or incorrect data updates during transactions.
      • Issues during system upgrades or migrations.
    2. Batch Not Created Properly: If a batch was not created correctly or if it was deleted without proper updates to the related tables, it can lead to this error.

    3. Missing Entries: If the batch is not assigned to any material or if the material itself does not have batch management enabled, this error can occur.

    Solution:

To resolve the error, you can follow these steps:

    1. Check Batch Data: Verify the batch data in the system. Use transaction code MSC3N to display the batch and check if it exists and is correctly assigned to the material.

    2. Recreate Where-Used Records: If the where-used records are missing, you may need to recreate them. This can often be done by:

      • Running the batch determination process again.
      • Using transaction code BMBC (Batch Management: Batch Where-Used List) to regenerate the where-used list.
    3. Consistency Check: Perform a consistency check on the batch management data. You can use transaction code BMCC (Batch Management: Consistency Check) to identify and correct inconsistencies.

    4. Update Batch Management Settings: Ensure that the material is set up for batch management. Check the material master data (transaction code MM03) to confirm that batch management is activated.

    5. Database Table Check: If you have access to the database, you can directly check the CHVW table for inconsistencies. However, this should be done with caution and preferably by a database administrator.

    6. SAP Notes: Check for any relevant SAP Notes that may address this specific error. SAP frequently releases notes that provide solutions or workarounds for known issues.
