Message text: Deletion flag is only set in plant &1
As the batch definition level in the current system is not 'plant', the
system saves all the data for the batch (apart from valuation type and
deletion flag) in a cross-plant data segment. While the valuation type
is generally stored in a plant segment, the deletion flag can be set
both in a cross-plant segment and a plant segment.
When you call up the transaction for changing a batch without plant
specification when the batch definition level is not 'plant', the
'Batch deletion flag' field contains the deletion flag from the
cross-plant data segment. Since you have entered plant <LS>&V1&</>, in
the data segment of the batch for this plant, the system enters the
deletion flag you have set and it therefore does not apply to the whole
batch.
The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

- Deletion flag is only set in plant &1 ?The SAP error message 12183, "Deletion flag is only set in plant &1," typically occurs when you are trying to delete a material or a master data record that has a deletion flag set in a specific plant, but the deletion process is not being executed correctly due to the way the deletion flag is configured.
Cause:
- Deletion Flag Set: The deletion flag is set for the material in a specific plant, which means that the material is marked for deletion in that plant.
- Material Status: The material may have a status that prevents deletion, or it may be used in transactions that do not allow for deletion.
- Cross-Plant Data: The deletion flag is plant-specific, and if you are trying to delete the material across multiple plants without addressing the specific plant where the flag is set, you will encounter this error.
Solution:
- Check Deletion Flag: Go to the material master record (transaction code MM03) and check the "Plant Data" section for the specific plant mentioned in the error message. Ensure that the deletion flag is set correctly.
- Remove Deletion Flag: If you want to keep the material, you can remove the deletion flag for the specific plant by going to the material master (transaction code MM02) and unchecking the deletion flag.
- Check Material Usage: Ensure that the material is not being used in any open purchase orders, production orders, or other transactions that would prevent deletion.
- Cross-Plant Deletion: If you need to delete the material across multiple plants, ensure that you handle the deletion flag for each plant accordingly.
- Consult Documentation: Refer to SAP documentation or your organization's SAP support team for specific procedures related to material deletion in your system.
