  • What is the cause and solution for SAP error message 0T115 - Cannot delete system &1 due to transport routes ?

The SAP error message 0T115 indicates that you cannot delete a system due to existing transport routes that are dependent on that system. This typically occurs when you attempt to delete a system from the Transport Management System (TMS) configuration, but there are transport routes that still reference that system.

    Cause:

The primary cause of this error is that the system you are trying to delete is part of a transport route configuration. Transport routes define how transport requests are moved between different systems in the landscape (e.g., Development, Quality Assurance, Production). If there are active routes that include the system you want to delete, SAP will prevent the deletion to maintain the integrity of the transport landscape.

    Solution:

To resolve this error, you need to follow these steps:

    1. Check Transport Routes:

      • Go to the TMS configuration (Transaction code: STMS).
      • Navigate to the Transport Routes section.
      • Review the transport routes to identify any routes that include the system you are trying to delete.
    2. Modify or Delete Transport Routes:

      • If you find transport routes that include the system, you will need to either modify those routes to remove the system or delete the routes entirely if they are no longer needed.
      • To modify a transport route, you can use the TMS configuration tools to adjust the route settings.
    3. Delete the System:

      • Once you have removed or modified the transport routes that reference the system, you can attempt to delete the system again from the TMS configuration.
    4. Check for Dependencies:

      • Ensure that there are no other dependencies or configurations that might prevent the deletion of the system.

    Related Information:

    • Transport Management System (TMS): TMS is a tool in SAP that manages the transport of objects between different systems in the landscape. Understanding how TMS works is crucial for managing transport routes and systems.
    • Transport Routes: These define the path that transport requests take from one system to another. They can be one-way or two-way and are essential for maintaining the flow of changes across systems.
    • Transaction Codes:
      • STMS: Access the Transport Management System.
      • SE01: Transport Organizer, where you can manage transport requests.
      • SE09: Workbench Organizer, for managing workbench requests.

By following these steps and understanding the underlying transport management concepts, you should be able to resolve the error and successfully delete the system.
