You want to sort the performance trace, but have positioned the cursor
incorrectly.
Only the fields that are displayed as part of the block header
(Transaction, Process ID, Process type, client, user) can be used as
sort fields.

Place the cursor one one of the block header fields and choose the
"Sort" function.
