Message text: SNC name and specified user/client do not match
You have used the Secure Network Communication (SNC) function to log
on. At the same time, you specified an R/3 user name. However the
external (SNC) name delivered from the external security system to the
R/3 System is not assigned to the specified user in table USRACL.
The system refuses the logon.
Log on with the permitted user name, or use the user maintenance
transaction (Transaction SU01) to assign the SNC name to the user.

- SNC name and specified user/client do not match ?The SAP error message "00771 SNC name and specified user/client do not match" typically occurs in the context of Secure Network Communications (SNC) when there is a mismatch between the SNC name configured for a user and the SNC name that is being used to authenticate that user in the SAP system.
Cause:
- SNC Configuration Mismatch: The SNC name defined in the user profile does not match the SNC name being used for the connection. This can happen if the SNC name is incorrectly configured in the user master record or if the SNC name used during the login process is different.
- User Profile Issues: The user profile may not have the correct SNC name assigned, or the SNC name may not be set at all.
- Client-Specific Settings: The error can also occur if the SNC name is client-specific and there are discrepancies in the configuration between different clients in the same SAP system.
- SNC Library Issues: If there are issues with the SNC library or if it is not properly installed or configured, it can lead to authentication problems.
Solution:
Check User Master Record:
- Go to transaction
SU01
(User Maintenance) and enter the user ID that is experiencing the issue.- Check the "SNC" tab to ensure that the SNC name is correctly configured. It should match the SNC name being used for the connection.
Verify SNC Name:
- Ensure that the SNC name being used in the connection string or during the login process matches the SNC name defined in the user profile.
- The SNC name typically follows the format
SNC:<SNC_NAME>
.Review SNC Configuration:
- Check the SNC configuration in the SAP system. This can be done using transaction
RZ10
to review the profile parameters related to SNC.- Ensure that the SNC parameters (like
snc/enable
,snc/identity/as
, etc.) are correctly set.Client-Specific Settings:
- If you are working in a multi-client environment, ensure that the SNC name is correctly set for the specific client you are trying to log into.
Check SNC Library:
- Ensure that the SNC library is properly installed and configured on the application server. This may involve checking the installation of the SAP Cryptographic Library or other relevant libraries.
Consult Documentation:
- Refer to SAP Notes and documentation related to SNC configuration for any additional troubleshooting steps or updates.
