To create consumer master data and process sales, you require reference
data, in the form of reference customers. You can only create one
reference customer per client. When you create a reference customer,
you must enter company code and sales area data. Company code and sales
area data are used in master records for consumers as follows:
<ZH>Company code data</>
When creating a master record for the consumer, the company code data
from the consumer is copied from the reference customer. After the
master record has been created, you can maintain the data for this and
other company codes.
<ZH>Sales area data</>
Sales area data for a consumer is not maintained.
You do not enter sales area data when creating a master record for the
consumer. In normal operations, for example when creating an order for
the consumer, the sales area data is copied from the reference
customer.
Sales area data for a consumer is maintained.
You enter sales area data when creating a master record for the
consumer. This sales area data is used by the system in normal
transactions.
