Effects on Asset Accounting
Switching off this error message has effects on the business processes
in Asset Accounting. Before you deactivate this error message, check if
these effects are relevant for you.
As a result of switching off the message, the retirement postings are
allowed. If input tax distributions are posted subsequently for
acquisitions (value date of the acquisition is before the retirement
date), then it is no longer possible to use the acquisition date of the
original posting as the value date for the input tax distribution (as
usual). Instead, the day after the last retirement is selected as the
value date for the input tax distribution. Since the value dates of the
original acquisition posting and of the acquisition posting from the
input tax distribution can be different, it can be the case that the
postings are treated differently in the depreciation run.
It is possible that the asset is deactivated by the retirement posting.
In order for it to be possible to perform the input tax distribution
that was missed in the past, the asset has to be reactivated. If
necessary, the asset values that arise from the input tax distribution
then also have to be settled to the target asset.
If a preliminary input tax distribution was performed and then the asset
was settled and a further input tax distribution performed, in the case
where the option rate increases, non-deductible input tax is reduced.
This can lead to negative asset values.
