A navigation path is a sequence of steps leading from a start-node to a
target-node via intermediate nodes. Every step itself leads from the
from-node to the to-node.
For successive steps<(>,<)> the to-node of the first step must be
identical to the from-node of the second step. This is not the case for
steps &v1& and &v2&.
