The current version of the MDC Advisor only proposes MDC settings that
increase the size of the fact tables by up to 10%.
The SAP BW system allows MDC settings that increase the size of the fact
tables up to 33 %. Therefore, MDC settings can exist that increase the
performance of the SAP BW system, but that are not part of the proposal
of the MDC Advisor.
The current version of the MDC Advisor cannot take account of the two
time characteristics SID_0FISCPER and SID_0CALMONTH of SAP BW InfoCubes.
If the collected BW reporting queries have restrictions on these time
characteristics, the SAP BW system displays an additional message
together with the results of the MDC Advisor. The message explains that
the MDC advisor has not considered SID_0FISCPER and SID_0CALMONTH in its
estimation.
Note:
The SAP BW system allows MDC settings with the two time characteristics
SID_0FISCPER and SID_0CALMONTH for a SAP BW InfoCube. Considering these
two characteristics in the MDC configuration could increase SAP BW query
performance.
